Lord Randolph's Pictorial diary of the 2003 Bristol Renaissance Festival, Opening weekend

The 2003 seasoned opened with near perfect weather. It rained each morning for dust control but was near 80 degrees both days.

We had more than normal difficulties opening the building this year. We had let friends Building next-door stay in the building after the show was over and due to a number of factors they did not close it properly. It took 5 people 2 days just for a basic muck out before we could even start a though cleaning while I helped a plumber for two days rebuilding the freeze broken pipes.

We were getting some confidence that we were indeed going to get it all done and be completely ready on Friday night when I took a misstep and sprained my ankle.
We did not get it all done and I limped and hobbled thru a very difficult Saturday working with 1/2 my boxes not unpacked). Sunday was much smoother after starting at 6 am to finish unpacking.

We had several first time dressers this week as well as a number of regulars. Everyone was nice to me and I think my opening jitters are over.
