it has been a completely exhausting week. Jane and I came down with colds on Sunday (thanks Frank and partner Chris) and that slowed packing to the point we did not drive over until Wednesday.
Alice and Clayton met us at site and helped with the initial debris removal and then hupped as much as I felt I could work around for the real cleaning. I wiped surfaces and vacuumed until an hour before opening Saturday. Jane spent that time putting out stock.
The weekend was (by MN standards) very hot and sticky with temps around 90 and 80% humidity. That was not enough to keep Alice and Clay from coming back Saturday (with their friends Molly and Aaron) to dress. Sunday had less people than we get on an all day rain event. Weakest opening for Mn in the 20 years I have good records for.
The "PIT" has grown to the Ship Stage which will have to be moved or removed by next season due the the ever growing demand for crushed rock. Usually reliable sources tell me the master plan expects to take 15 years to consume the entire parking lot before they begin nibbling at the edge of the festival itself. I only need 8 years to start pulling full SS at age 70. Jo will have her 40 quarters recorded with the IRS by then and maybe we can retire.
The mri is back and the news is grim for my right hip is bone on bone and I need a new one. I had expected to live with it for 2 more years until Medicare but i heard this weekend that Obama has ordered the VA to treat 5 star Nam veterans. I will look into that when I get home and hopefully won't have to stay cripple for 2 more years
