It has been a long and stressfully month but my life is getting back on track.
Due to scheduling beyond my control the Texas fest opening over lapped Minnesota
closing.
This left me needing to open Texas without out either of my partners and with only half the inventory.
We are back together now and the rest of the show should be much more organized.
One of the things I did to manage with limited resources was not to dress volunteers
and I made my parade and show "owners only". It worked very well for me.
Normally Minnesota and Texas are separated by 5 days. That is not a lot to pack
one show drive 1400 miles and set up another. I have never had my dressing room
set up by saturday morning and have worked out of trunks and boxes the first
weekend. No more. from now on I will not be doing dressers first weekend, at
most I will lend belts or skirts to halter owners so they can be in the show
but no chain or cloth accessories. in addition to giving me time to unpack I
can also rest somewhat from the push to get there and open.
The weekend was hot and steamy, low 90's but upper 80's for humidity
